What a great defensive stand. We knew they were going to spread us out there, but we executed down the stretch today.
We believe we did have a plan that was working,
The only time we got away from that and gave them easy baskets is when we were inefficient on offense. We were a little bit soft with the ball and that lead to some easy breakouts for them.
I was so proud of our defensive effort tonight. I thought that was the key to the game. We had to slow down their motion offense, get to their shooters and control the glass. I was pleased with how we executed our game plan.
We told the guys that this game was going to come down to whoever was going to make the plays at the end of the game.
We made some great plays and enough free throws down the stretch to maintain the gap.
Our schools felt that we were moving kids to healthy snacks, and using it to drive kids to look out for their nutrition,
Our waiver moved more kids to the lunch program, reduced the number of kids who were eating a la carte, and increased the number of kids who were eating healthier snacks and beverages.
We were nervous to start the game, but once we settled down a little bit, we were able to go on a little run. But we knew SIUE would close the gap. We knew it was going to come right down to the wire.
We shot free throws great today. If we don't shoot free throws, it's a tight game. We were just good in so many areas today and so balanced.
We showed a lot of poise and composure. After we got down 10 after the first five minutes, I thought our composure was as good as it's been since I've been here.
Could you write it any better? You win the last seven games and you win the West.
Once we settled down, we played our style of basketball, but for the first 10 minutes it was pretty shaky. I was very proud of my team because they showed the pride and composure.
It really didn't matter to me who we played. It's obviously a lot easier to prepare for a team you've already played three times.
That's a saver right there. It helps keep our (NCAA) hopes alive.
