Shutting down a program like this really sends a bad message. It makes it look like Truman doesn't care about preschool education and we don't think it's important. And of course, we do.

Military families on or near base are a captive audience for everyone from used car salesmen to payday lenders.

I don't know whether they will say yes or no since there are all sorts of administrative, financial and legal issues.

But they know how important it was for their own kids. They know how important it was and still is for our students.And it's such a shame to have to lose a program that everyone agrees is a wonderful program.

We do have particular populations that would be particularly interested in this, and we would work with the Advancement Office to identify those populations and contact them.

I hope if nothing else, we can get across the idea that the administration has been wonderful about working with us and listening to us. I really think they care about Truman and about this facility in particular.

The longer we wait to start all that work, the harder it gets.
