When everyone had written us out of the chase, that spurred these guys on, and we weren't going to go down without a fight.

We're looking forward to this weekend racing here at home. It's always an exciting race for the fans and we're bringing one of our best cars. Some of our teammates tested at Lowe's a few weeks ago with mixed results. Matt's Busch team tested there also and had a good run. So we'll see what we're dealing with once practice gets going.

I don't understand any of it at all.

I think we'll be in good shape for Dover. Matt really likes racing there and although our finishes haven't been consistent due to some crashes we've been involved in over the past couple of years, we generally do run well there. Car number 39 has been good to us this season, especially lately, and we're bringing it to Dover. It should be a good weekend.

I think we build every year. We're always adding to the resources that we have. We're adding to the people we have. We're beefing up the engineering staff. We're working on the car, so yeah, the pool gets bigger and bigger and bigger the more we build on it.

Our team is really pumped right now. With our win last weekend, we gained several spots in the points and are still a contender for the Chase. The guys will be really focused this weekend on executing their pit stops. We're bringing our Chicago and Michigan car to California and it's done well for us, so we're looking forward to being competitive again this weekend.

It all comes down to this weekend. We tested at Richmond last week and learned about a lot of things that didn't work. Hopefully, we can take what we know and get the right set up on our car. We're bringing the same car that we always run at Bristol. We usually finish in the top-ten so it's definitely a track that we look forward to coming to. We were disappointed after last weekend in Michigan over not getting the win when our car was so fast, but the team is really focused on running up front week in and week out. We're going to win one of these things eventually so we'll keep working at it.

We've been fortunate enough to have really good racecars whenever we unload at Vegas over the years and I really don't expect this weekend to be any different. The guys do a great job setting these cars up. Obviously, at this point it's too early to tell how the weekend will go, but we've got some momentum and we're coming to a track where we've enjoyed some success in recent years. We're coming in with high expectations.

We were able to work out some kinks and came back and changed some cars around and applied what we learned.

We took a hit at Charlotte over the weekend and are looking to rebound from that. Martinsville historically has not been a good track for us but we're staying positive and focused on coming out with a strong finish.

Saving those many tests (last year) looked good on paper, but to try to take the group you have and run tests and run races and keep cars prepared during the Chase was too much to ask,

The month of May was really tough on this team. We got way behind with some of the car setup and some of the things we had going on, but we were able to turn it around. The last two months have been real strong for this team.

Daytona and Talladega are two different animals. When it comes to speed they are basically the same. When you're working on qualifying, it doesn't matter, if you're finding speed at Talladega, you're finding speed at Daytona. When we get into drafting practice and we get into handling and stuff like that then they are two different tracks. That's where you hear a lot of guys say they bring different types of cars to Daytona then they do to Talladega because once you get 30 laps into a run, the car definitely handles differently at Talladega than what it does at Daytona.

They're still analyzing it. It looks like we maybe had a brake bracket failure or something, I really don't know. The tire is flat and we've got some broken parts, so we've got to take a look at what happened.

A lot of our competition has saved tests. Maybe that will help them, maybe it will hurt them.

It's really all about who can pick up the accelerator faster than the other guy.

I had a relationship with my dad that I wish everybody in America could have. For 40 years, I got to do everything together with my dad. Everything, all the way to the point where I went to work for Roush, we did everything in racing together.

I really hope we got our bad luck out of the way in Dover. We cut that first tire down and were able to battle back, but when the second one went our day was finished.
