based consistent early foresee happens obviously occasions pitches record struggling track
He's just struggling to make some pitches on a consistent basis. I obviously don't foresee that continuing, based on the track record he's had. This is just one of those occasions ... unfortunately that it happens back-to-back and this early in the season.
arms great
There are a lot a great arms here. It's very impressive.
people pitchers player ready
I wouldn't take back anything that I have done because it's who I am. I like to make people laugh. But I'm not a player anymore. I'm a coach, and it's a different job. I want to do my job, and that's to get 11 or 12 pitchers ready to pitch a game.
camp rightfully
I don't feel I have warranted anything to be called Camp Roger. It's been called Camp Leo, and rightfully so.
continue hopefully leo obviously second success
Obviously the success Leo had here was pretty much second to none. Hopefully we will continue that success.
continuing happened obviously rare record track
Obviously I don't see that continuing with the track record he has. It's just one of those rare occasions, and it's happened back to back.
everybody obviously pitchers slumps throwing whatever
Obviously you'd like to have everybody throwing up zeroes all the time. But that can't happen. Pitchers can go into slumps just like hitters. For whatever reason, sometimes they do it collectively.
pressure scale
I feel pressure every day I come to the ballpark. Obviously, it's a different scale now.
talk
We don't always talk baseball. I want to know everything about these guys. I feel that if I know them, I can be a better coach.
division given good history pitchers pitching titles
Obviously, this is exciting. It's special. No, make that real special, given the history of this organization with its pitching and all the winning. There are a lot of good pitchers here. And how many consecutive division titles have they won? Fourteen.
advance everybody gauge gives happen head knowing knowledge seems spring start tremendous
Everybody seems to be progressing right where they need to be. It's been a tremendous help, because I've been able to get advance knowledge of knowing personalities and how to gauge their needs. This just gives us a head start so that it doesn't have to happen in Spring Training.
baby ecstatic excitement starts time worn
The excitement hasn't worn off. Now, the preparation starts to come to fruition. It's like with a new baby ? that first day is an ecstatic high. Now, it's time to go to work.
date putting seems
He seems to be day to day. We're not putting a date on anything.
greatest smile smiles
He had a big smile on his face. For me, that was the greatest indicator.
