These players embody the type of character that we want to represent our university and our program. It's the head coach's job to put the team together and there is a factor with the roster and the number of position players we decided to sign. But more than that, it is a factor that that they are the right kind of people that we want in our program.

This whole thing is about helping players get the opportunity to have a quality education, and I think that?s a good thing. It?s all about continued progress and continual improvement academically.

When corporate America comes in, they put their money where their mouth is. When they are here, that's a powerful message. It's not a charitable thing that they're doing, it's in their best interest. And it's in all of our best interests to recognize exactly what diversity is and what it means.

I'm completely aware of the significance of this right now. I'm hopeful that someday this won't be very significant. I hope that we will move past this moment.
