Our pitchers need to do a better job getting ahead in counts. Our hitters have to give them some run support for us to win. In the last few ball games that hasn't been happening and the result has not been good.

With that coaching staff up there, they will afford him the tools he need for his career to take off. Baseball will be his main focus year round so only the thing he can do is get better.

Our guys are just playing great baseball right now. Things can always change in the blink of an eye, but I think this bunch will stay focused and take this season one game at a time.

Our overall sports program is losing a great athlete. He is one of the better athletes to come out of here in a long time. He has meant a lot to this school.

Going into his final season we are going to count on him on the mound, in the outfield and at bat. There is no designated hitter for Alan. His batting and pitching are a plus, and even if he is playing in the outfield there is not a weak link.

I can't say enough about our guys and the way they came out to play. We're hitting the ball real well and that's something we need to keep doing because we'll have several more games like this left.

We did not play defense well. We are going to have to get a whole lot better when we get back into region play. I am glad to get the win, but we made too many errors.

While I am proud of the win, it should not have come down to this. We have got to learn how to put a team away when we have the lead. If we are to make a playoff run, we can't give teams second chances.

Without him, we were good for three or four errors. Of course when you have a guy at the plate that is scoring two or three runs a game and is knocking in two or three, you are losing four-five runs of production without him.

We are good for about three or four errors without him. When he was out, we had to make some shifts in our lineup and play a couple of guys out of position. He is a calming influence while out there on the field.
