We're going to keep that light active until Monday after rush hour. Just because we don't have enough time to let traffic completely adjust.
Removing the temporary signals along Mercury Boulevard has been a priority for VDOT and our contractor. We expect to see congestion significantly reduced on Mercury once we take this signal out of service.
This is really the beginning of the end of construction within the Mercury Boulevard interchange.
It's unfortunate that it had to be done after we thought we were done with eastbound. But this particular concrete started showing these deficiencies.
