We haven't been there in a long time. We're going to enjoy this. We're going to work our butts off to continue.

We handled the pressure. We talked about containing the basketball on defense and not letting them penetrate and kick it out to one of their shooters. We were patient and not forcing things on offense. We were getting good looks at the basket, and I felt we did a good job of rebounding on both ends.

We had to work for this one, but that's fine. However you get it, just keep moving on.

We knew that they (Fleming) were quick. I didn't know if we could match up man-to-man against them. We tried to spread them out in that zone and try to make them shoot the ball on the outside. It worked, thank God, but our kids just kept playing hard.

We let ourselves down against Martinsville. We came out not as focused as we had been, so we learned from our lessons. We had a fun job to do tonight, and that's all we focused on.

We didn't make any adjustments in the second half. All we said was, 'We're not playing Bassett basketball. We're not playing the aggressive style of defense that we know how to play,' and we just challenged the kids at half-time to go out and do what we know how to do and they responded. I was proud of that effort in the second half.

Elijah's just getting better and better as the year goes on. He's so strong inside, he can get the position that he wants to get because of how physically strong he is.

This is something a lot of these kids have dreamed about since eighth grade. They've stuck together and kept working and working, and all that hard work has paid off for them. I'm very proud of them.

You've got to have some of those guys. You've got to have some guys who are willing to get down and dirty and get after it. They're not out to see their name in the paper, they're out for the team to win.

I thought if we played a zone and got more help ... we could keep that ball out of the middle of the lane. We did a pretty good job for most of the game.

That was our goal at the beginning of the season, to compete for the Piedmont title. We're just going to have to keep going one game at a time.
