It would be impossible without immigrant labor. People can no longer turn their faces.
They hadn't eaten for three days when we got to them. They had no blankets, nothing. They were sleeping on the floor. They had no money to buy food.
It's easy to take advantage of them. The rate of abuse is astronomical.
It's signifying a presence, letting the Gulf Coast know that we are here. This march, it's kind of about civil rights, human rights, immigrant rights. America was built on immigrant labor. We are here more than anything to help rebuild the Gulf Coast.
