Zachary Michael Thomasis a former American college and professional football player who was a middle linebacker in the National Football Leaguefor thirteen seasons. He played college football for Texas Tech University, and was recognized as a unanimous All-American. We practiced horribly this week. We had it coming. We had some of our worst practices of the year this week and we got outplayed today because of it.
When he came in, I thought he was going to be a wild man. But really, he's not.
We killed ourselves on defense, man. Let them beat you; don't let yourselves beat you.
We're trying to do what the Patriots have done. We've got a long way to go, but those guys know how to win. They've been there. They've done that. That's what we're striving to do.
We should have gotten on this run earlier. That's why we're not going to the playoffs. There are plenty of games we're looking back on now and saying, 'Man, we'd be in the playoff hunt if we just pulled one or two of those games out.' We shot ourselves in the foot early.

This was about the offense winning for us. I'm not sure, for all the time I've been here, I can say the offense had won a game when the defense didn't play well.
He was huge. The guy takes up a lot of gaps and does a great job of getting push. He does a great job of plugging.
That was a steal. To get a Pro Bowl-caliber quarterback, really a franchise quarterback, it can't get no better than that for a second-round pick, now. Come on. I was excited. Hopefully, his health will be fine and we've got a lot of talent around him.
I am sure by the time the game starts later in the week it will be a packed crowd. You have to start winning and get an identity, like Coach Saban says. Once you start doing that, you'll fill that stadium up and it won't be a problem.
