We didn't want to give them any easy breathing room. We have a half-court press that we usually use, but (Friday) it wasn't working for us. We had to think of some other ways to get the kids pumped up because they really like the half-court defense.
They needed that time to reflect and focus on what they wanted out of the season. It could've gone either way. We weren't sure how the kids were going to bounce back. Were they going to tank it or suck it up and do better?
