With what they have on offense, we wanted to keep them on the sideline. As far as the second half, our game plan was to eat up the clock. Heart, that's all I can say. We had our backs against the wall, and the one thing you can't coach is heart. Tonight, our heart came out.
We were underdogs going into the Ely game and they were underdogs going into the Boyd Anderson game, and we both came out on top. When you beat teams like that, you're doing something right. We might not have athletes like Boyd Anderson or Ely, but we find a way to win.
He's aware that games can be won or lost in the trenches. I've had the opportunity to coach guys that were big, but Sam has size, he's physical and I watched him pass protect. ... If a kid that size can do that, it means he's quick. He was just impressive.
