This was as good of a team effort as we've had in a long time. I'm very proud of them. This is not going to go down in history as an earth-shaking, dramatic top 10 win for Iowa State women's basketball, but I don't think you can tell the kids that and I don't think you can tell the coaches that. It was special.

Based on their history, based on the way they've played over the years, they're a team that everyone has great respect for in the women's game.

The way we've approached it is we're playing the No. 9 team in the country this year. It's a great team, a team that has some new faces, but it's the same approach - very athletic, they defend great.

You don't feel good when you lose, and if you do, there's something wrong. At the same time, you've got to be realistic, and for our team to be down 19 points on the road and all the things that we were fighting through, I was proud that we just didn't say, 'It's time to chuck it in.' We did everything but that.

They're a team that understands how to win. We needed to make one more play to get the game closer. We just didn't have enough of the extra plays that we have to make to have a chance to win.

For back-to-back nights, we've really struggled to make shots, and that's something this team needs to do.
