If I'm not coaching at Purdue, I won't be coaching anywhere else, ... I think this is it for me.
He is a guy that I've known for a long time. He's very knowledgeable guy and he's a play ahead all of the time. He understands mechanics probably as well as anybody coaching quarterbacks today.
Joel did a great job as a graduate assistant here and has gone on to cut his teeth in the coaching profession. He's a detail guy with a lot of energy, and we're thrilled to have him back at Purdue.
I think he was able to accomplish something many couldn't do. He survived three coaching changes at Western Michigan.
