Unlike Vice President Gore, Gov. Bush says what he means and means what he says. He has said all along, for more than a month now, he wants three debates: Today our campaign has agreed with the Gore campaign to have three debates.

President Bush is a leader who has very strong convictions and also a tremendous heart. He worked to achieve a solution that recognized the tremendous hopes of those who suffer from terrible illnesses and those who long for a cure, as we all do.

The facts are, Governor Bush provides a tax cut for every taxpayer at every income level in every bracket. Vice President Gore completely leaves out more than 50 percent of American taxpayers. More than 50 million people need not apply for one of Al Gore's targeted tax cuts.

Both President and Mrs. Bush feel strongly that out of the evil of Sept. 11 has come a great deal of good. As President Bush said, we're a nation awakened to terror but also a nation awakened to service, citizenship and compassion.

The Bush campaign fought for the format that is being used tonight and I think was used successfully last week in the vice presidential debate. People seem to like it. It allows for a very thoughtful exchange of ideas and substance, and that's exactly what Gov. Bush intends to engage in tonight.

Americans can be comforted to learn that the Florida judge found no credible evidence to suggest that the results from any additional recounts would be any different from the results of the counts and recounts already conducted, all of which showed Gov. Bush and Dick Cheney won Florida's electoral votes,

That just defies all logic and all common sense. When Gov. Bush unveiled his plan to end social promotions in public schools, it was heralded by the national press as a sweeping reform, the most sweeping ever attempted in the country.

The vote count on Tuesday night showed Governor Bush won Florida's election and a recount has now confirmed his victory. We hope Vice President Gore and his campaign will reconsider their threats of lawsuits or still more recounts which could undermine the constitutional process of selecting a president and have no foreseeable end.
