We don't really have a voice on whether they should reopen the mine. If they believe it's ready, we're going to have to take their word for it, and so will the miners.
We believe that the Senate should carefully review this appointment to ensure that this nominee will be the kind of watchdog on behalf of American coal miners that they need.
We believe it needs to be somebody who has not spent their entire career figuring out how to put production ahead of safety and trying to figure out how to circumvent safety laws so they can increase the productivity.
