We are getting ready for next season as most of the girls are participating in softball or track this spring. And that is a positive note because it shows these girls are committed to winning in a couple years.

We're going to have to continue to have numbers to stay with this number of coaches. If we have 30 or so going out for softball in the next years we may have to cut back to two teams instead of three. The numbers will indicate if we continue to chase this thing. 15 members on a team isn't too many when you're playing double headers. We need to do this before we set the schedule. I was born and raised in Huntington Beach, California. I was very athletic, playing volleyball and softball. I did gymnastics for about ten years, too.

We're playing good softball. We just didn't get the hits when we needed it. We made one mistake defensively and it cost us but I'm not too disappointed. Port Charlotte is a good softball team.

Single-mindedness. I hate to say it because I don't think it's the best thing for developing a person, but the single-mindedness - just concentrating in the one area - that's what it takes to be a champion.

When the source is a story. That's a softball question.

Softball is something I strive to do. Where else could you go out and meet this group of guys without playing ball?

She was having a rough time last night because I've been gone so long. I promised her after my round I would call her before she went to softball practice, but I didn't make it. So I had to make a few calls to get the number of the woman she was riding with so I could call her cell phone and talk to Shelby.

She works at it year around. She is a dedicated softball player, she lives and breathes it. Plus she has had tremendous support from her parents (Mike and Joanne).

She's had a great experience there working with (Skyline softball coach) Denise Long. She's had good instruction and lots of playing time.

She's one of those players who steps up to the plate and you can just see in her face that she's saying, 'I'm going to hit it by you, around you, over you, and you're not going to get me out. She can hit the home runs, she can bunt to get on, she's fast and she's very smart. She's just got that softball edge.

She could hit the ball and she could field the ball. She was just a softball player at the time and still is.

She had to get back to the softball team. She had that commitment and needed to get ready for the season. She was a big help to us while she was here.

She's about to get one of the best facilities at any college. Things are definitely looking up for our softball program.

She really just joined us and has been a nice surprise. She's a basketball player but proved today that she can play softball too.

She is a great team player and does what she is asked to do. She has played more softball than any of the girls on this team and they know that. They respect what she does and what she brings. She definitely proved herself as a captain this year.

My Dad knows softball as well as baseball. I remember watching him play and those guys were amazing.
