I feel fantastic. It's something really special. It means a lot to me. Now I guess I can concentrate on my singles career, especially having a partner like Mahesh, it makes it even more special.
It means a lot. Finally I can say that I'm able to play and beat anyone, and it just gives me so much confidence. I had so many matches like this where I was really close to beating the top players and finally I did it today. I'm just really extremely happy about that.
I have so much respect for the way she plays, ... I just tried to keep fighting for every point. I went for my shots and it paid off.
I had inflammation of tendonitis and felt it three days ago so I couldn't practice before the tournament,
I felt like I could hurt her a lot today by just being aggressive, and maybe I had a little more on my balls than in my previous matches and so that made a difference. I was more aggressive today and just didn't hesitate. When I had my chances, I went for them.
I felt like I was serving really well, especially in the second set, ... That gave me a lot of easy points. I got on top of her and didn't let her play the way she likes, and I tried to be really aggressive but at the same time not going for really crazy shots.
I feel fantastic. It's something really special. Now I can concentrate on my singles career.
I feel like it's really deserved this time as I've helped Dominik to get through,
I think we all know how well she can really play. But to her credit, I thought she kept fighting until the end.
I went for some stupid shots and was not patient enough. If you don't take your chances and she starts to feel she's getting on top, it's so hard to stop her. I didn't play the right shots the right way.
I was just really glad how I stuck in there and kept fighting for every point. That's what makes the difference for me, now being able to win these matches.
This was one of the best matches I've played against her. I tried to step it up a little bit, went for my shots and be aggressive, but at same time be a little smarter.
I always believed in myself. I guess the way to get there is to keep working hard and fight all the way.
I was really struggling with the wind today. I couldn't really figure out which way it was blowing. The conditions were very tough and Vera just dealt with it much better.
