beat carry certainly shoulders team
He's a game-changer. He can beat you so many different ways. He can certainly put a team on his shoulders and carry it.
anybody ask bounce couple fall games lose means mode satisfied seem teams winning
Just because we started 8-2, that means nothing come September. But I think if you ask anybody in here, we're pretty satisfied with how the first 10 games have gone. We've got to keep at it. The winning teams seem to never fall into that mode where you lose a couple in a row. They find a way to bounce back and that's what they need to do.
finishing goals knock next note setting strong sure teams trying
We're not going out there and setting our goals to try and knock teams out of the playoffs. We're trying to just make sure to finishing on a strong note that can springboard us into next year.
emotions fans game great grown man men obviously range respect saw special stands stop support teammate tear wide
You look in the stands and you see grown men crying. It was special to be a part of it as a player. You've got to be The Man to have a major-league game stop for you. As a teammate you go through a wide range of emotions. It's obviously sad. I saw a tear come from his eye. But it's also great to see the fans respect and support him the way they did.
less matter pressure score team time
There's going to be a lot less pressure on Carlos this time around. That's why it doesn't matter where I hit. This team is going to score runs, period.
baseball continue drought focused game good start stay teams time ton
You look at it, you've got to take one game at a time and play good baseball. Yes, we started hot, but there have been a ton of teams that start hot, then they go into a drought after that. So we have to stay focused and continue doing what we're doing.
capable definitely phenomenal team
This year, we definitely have a team that's capable of making the playoffs. Right now, we're phenomenal on paper.
battle ninth teammates
The play I botched in the ninth has to be made. It was a battle and I let my teammates down.
growing-up team love-is
I love being a Met. It was my favorite team growing up, so to be a Met to me is very special.
looking support team
The way we are looking at it, we will have at least one team to support in the semifinals.
last team year
That's something we didn't do enough last year -- keep a team down.
across biggest good team together trades trying
That's the biggest thing we were trying to get across is that we have all the right tools. The free-agent signings, the trades that have come over, we have all the right tools. We just have to put it together and do it on the field. It's one thing to be a good team on paper; it's another thing to go out there and be a good team on the field.
energy level notch picks rest run team
You run out of things to say about Pedro. As he goes, the rest of the team goes. Our energy level picks up a notch when he pitches.
feeling guy helpless injuries minor sitting somebody superstar talent team wants
I want to be out there and be involved. You get that helpless feeling when you're sitting on the bench. I don't want to be that guy. I'll take a guy on my team that doesn't have as much talent but wants to play through minor injuries than somebody who has superstar talent but is soft.
