We started each half missing a wide-open lay-up, and that kind of set the tone. My top three scorers couldn't find the basket.
We know we'll probably see them again (at state) and there's a good chance we'll see Curtis again. We always try to learn from our losses. Hopefully, we'll make the adjustments we need.
Obviously, the game changes without him. We had a very nice first half and then we had to kind of patch it together.
He (Tyler) runs the show. We're comfortable about that.
We survived round one, and now we've got to go do battle with another heavyweight team.
We told the kids it's life. Things always don't happen the way you want them to whether you're in business or playing sports.
He's a fabulous shooter. We'll try to make him work hard for his shots.
He (Jones) fits in great. He's probably the most point-oriented point guard that we've had here. He looks to score and that puts a lot of pressure on teams. Plus, he's quick and makes a lot of steals.
Like we always say, sometimes you learn more in losses, so hopefully we learned our lessons.
We have a lot of good kids that keep coming through (Kentwood). But I like to think that our system has something to do with it too. These kids come in young and they learn how to compete at a high level. And by the time they are seniors they do just that.
We had it covered pretty well. The guy made a great play.
We need to learn to run better offense. The kids are talented and gifted but we need to learn to play more unified. We do what we need to do to get the lead and we kind of stop.
We can't just show up and win games because we're more athletic. We met a team as athletic in a lot of ways. We've got to execute, that's the biggest thing.
We opened the door a little bit, and they took advantage of it.
We didn't have many guys to replace him with. It was a gutsy win.
They shoot well. Not only Isaiah, but the other kids shot very well, too. They had other guys shoot well right when we didn't need it.
They run a lot, they press; we're very similar in styles as a team.
It's very humbling to win this award again. There are so many good coaches out there in all of the sports. There are a lot of deserving people.
They attack the basket and rebound so hard. They are tough and it was a tough game.
They've to two good quality post players who are real fundamental and solid kids. They know how to get them the ball and those guys finish well.
I'm not a big fan of that play. But since no one (on defense) was trailing, it was a pretty safe bet at that point. I thought it was fine.
He's probably one of the fastest kids out there and he's coming into his own. He's a solid basketball player who's going to do a lot of good things for us.
He (Boyce) has really come into his own offensively, defensively and rebounding. He's the total package.
These guys have pulled together and played some good basketball. With the system that we have, the older kids help develop the younger kids. And when it's the younger kids' turn, they know how to win. When they're put in that spot, they come through.
