Yes (I was happy with their performance). I'm not sure about the other teams, but I was very happy that we were very competitive. That's what I like about indoor meets because they get the competitive juices flowing.

It isn't the same as it was. What students could casually say 10 years ago, they know that if they get into those kinds of conversations (today), they're going to be facing pretty dire consequences.

I was disappointed to come so close to a team that good, but was encouraged that we played well and weren't intimidated. I think we are starting to mature a little bit.

He's a student of the event. His preparation and work ethic are the kind of things you want from a kid. He likes the 800 and that helps. It's rare when you find a kid who loves an event like that.
