Previous to that, he was the offensive coordinator at New Mexico State University and coached tight ends in the UFL for the Las Vegas Locomotives. He's doing a nice job with it. It can get overwhelming, which it's becoming. We have to manage that and make sure it doesn't get out of control and we're able to keep him grounded and focused on the task at hand.

Omar was poised in there, didn't get rattled and made some nice throws. His receivers bailed him out a couple of times. But he moved the club.

Omar does a nice job taking care of the football. We do a good job coaching that ... stressing getting rid of the ball on time and protecting our quarterback. We do a nice job with him inside the system and don't throw a lot of high-risk plays.

We respect Omar's decision and we support him. Any coach would love to have an Omar Jacobs for another year, but we know his desire is to play professionally. We really appreciate his efforts in helping us re-establish a winning tradition at BGSU.
