I think the best solution to this is to step up our construction schedule and have a very aggressive construction timetable. We should be building one or two or three (schools) simultaneously.
I will tell you, it's extremely generous of the developer and it helps us out.
We have to correct it. And that's what they (district staffers and Russell) are doing.
Anything that's going to be detrimental to the district (we should) go on record to nip it in the bud.
They're making rules that I think they're running around you and running around us. They passed that rule Tuesday and we're to scurry and get it done.
It is to be determined. We might put a couple of facilities there.
That is absolutely appropriate and I commend them for that. That's different from a governmental agency using taxpayers' dollars.
In a nutshell, I will say it again. The issue is not going into the Gulf region to rescue people. This issue is making a donation to a private charity. I cannot use tax dollars and determine what charity to give to and I shouldn't be put into that position.
