Joey is looking good. After being released (Thursday) morning, he came by the Finch Center for a couple of minutes and said he was ready to start working out again.
actions allow chance continue gone jeremy ongoing university
I think the university and I have gone out of our way to give Jeremy every chance to be a part of this program, but we can not allow his actions to continue to be an ongoing distraction for this team.
absolutely eating father grief grieving love mother work
He has a mother and a father who absolutely love him and tell him that every day. They let him work through the grief and then said the grieving is over. (The game) was over by 3 o'clock, and by 7 or 8 they were eating on Beale Street.
bumped either fairly good job nine somebody straight
He made runners, he made them when they bumped him, he made them inside. He rebounded the ball. He did a fairly good job of defending. We (isolated) him about 10 straight times, and about nine of them, we got something good; either he scored or got somebody else something.
basketball coaching ecstatic family good group hopes money people sitting staff standing
This wasn't about money because if it was I wouldn't be standing here. You're sitting here and you have a staff and their families, and then you have your other family -- those 13 or 14 basketball players. And at the end of the day there are a lot of young people pinning their hopes on what we do. We have a good group of young people, and I'm ecstatic about coaching them.
best miss picked seen since stuff
This was not our best performance. We just did stuff that I haven't seen since the first of the season. We picked a day to miss 15 one-footers.
based costs five freshman instead kids rules
We make rules based on money. They make $6 billion, and everything's based on money. We should have freshman ineligibility. But it costs money, so it's not even discussed. Kids should have five years (of eligibility) instead of four.
cried crying grown kids learn people wife worst
Grown people cried in that arena, my wife and kids included. And it wasn't because we lost. They were crying for him. You learn that at your worst moment, people feel compassion.
becomes bothers gets team
If a team gets after us and becomes physical, that bothers us. That's one of those things we have to get better at.
committee four happened proud respect shown teams toward
For us to get a first seed, it just doesn't happen. Well, it's never happened here before. It's hard. There are only four teams that get this. I'm really proud for the respect that the committee has shown toward us.
happiness happy stepped talked
I was happy for Joey. One of the things we had talked about was getting him more looks. He stepped up and we did that.
asked blocked blocks defended defending easy far four grabbed half himself means point proud rodney run second shots shows
I was so proud of Rodney Carney today. It would be so easy for Rodney to play for himself right now. It would easy for him to just go out and do it himself. I grabbed Rodney and said 'you are defending and we will try to give you some shots. Rodney said I am fine. At one point in the second half I asked if you want me to run something to get you going and he said I am fine. He defended and blocked shots today. Four blocks shows how far he has come and what he means to the team.
losing pressed
If we pressed them, we were losing this game.
stunned watched worry
I think you're all stunned when they say that we haven't watched any tape. Does that stun you? I don't want them to worry about Bradley. ... You worry about us.
