across balls basically fifth hit matter middle pitch playing threw tonight
Basically tonight we just did not pitch very well. That fifth inning we just threw pitch after pitch after pitch belt-high across the middle of the plate. Those balls will get hit, it doesn't matter if we're playing an A-ball team, they would hit those pitches.

We didn't pitch well all the way around, didn't make any quality pitches. Colby was up in the strike zone and couldn't keep the ball down. But everybody threw like that.
bullpen feeling gone good guys miner pitches strikes thrown
Miner pitched well, and the guys in the bullpen have thrown strikes and gone after guys. They're making some pitches when they have to. I'm really feeling good right now about the way the bullpen has pitched in these first two games.

I know right now the pitchers are fresh, but it looks like nerves. I think the adrenaline was kicking a little high.

To come in and throw strikes and get people out in a pressure situation like this was just outstanding. He showed a lot of poise.

He's a valuable guy to have on your club. Whether he's playing, working with the other infielders, or on the bench, he brings a lot of energy. He's a special kid.

He located the ball well, pitched in and out, changed speeds, made it look easy.

He's been working hard. We're trying to get him going. It's good for him to have success.

He's been walking a lot. We'd rather he hit it out of the ballpark, but other than that a walk's all right.

He's pitched well in both starts. We just didn't score any runs for him in his first outing. Any time you go out there and give up one run in two starts, that's a pretty good job.

He didn't get a lot of help behind the plate the other night, either. I watched the film, and there were a lot of strikes that he didn't get.
davis easily five four games giving runs scoring swinging three threw won
I thought Davis threw pretty good. He pitched better than giving up three runs. In the five games we've played, we could have won four of them easily if we were scoring runs and swinging the bats.

We had a lot of chances to score, but we can't get a hit with the bases loaded. I think we're 0-for-the-year with the bases loaded.
