We were pretty much down the entire game but we finally started hitting our shots in the fourth. They are a good defensive team and we have struggled against them in the past. We just came on at the right time.

That really took the wind out of our sails. They just outplayed us in every way in the first half. They proved why they are the best team in the state.

We worked harder on getting rebounds after halftime. We were so close, all we needed to do was take that extra step, and we did.

They shot 42 percent from the floor and held us to 22 percent. We were down 39-31 near the end of the third quarter. Then their full court man press tired us out. We just ran out of gas. They also forced a lot of turnovers.

I'm really proud of them. We're one of the smallest 2A teams in the state with an enrollment that should be 1A, and yet we're playing well against teams twice our size. These kids came to compete every night.
