I wouldn't have had them on varsity if we didn't either start them or bring them right off the bench. They're not going to get any better if they don't play. There was never any doubt.

Well, we got the 'W.' But you could see us look like the Titanic sinking, ready to roll over there. We got steals and hit enough free throws to pull it out. It wasn't pretty, we realize that. The good thing is we won, but I'm not sure it feels like a 'W' right now because we were struggling so badly.

I have not lowered my expectations. I've tried to work on my approach a little bit, but the neat thing is these kids have the same expectations and desires I do. They want to be successful, and they want to be champions. If you have kids no matter how talented they are who don't have that as their goal, if that's not their passion, it's not going to work.

Oh, my goodness, you talk about big hearts. These kids showed a lot of moxie. These kids can't be stopped.

I am sure we are the underdogs, but that's OK. We probably were two years ago, too. We know what we are facing, but I also know that we have some die-hard competitors who play pretty good defense. We have some kids who can play some pretty good basketball, too.

I remember the lead disappearing just like that. It was a whole spectrum of emotions and an overwhelming relief and joy at the end. I remember frustration and anger that we allowed the lead to be extinguished. It shouldn't have come down to that.

These girls know how devoted I am to them and that I will with my dying breath do whatever it takes for them to be successful on and off the court. They see how committed to excellence I am and how hard I work. I love my girls and I love my team.
