I told the kids at halftime to forget about Monday - it's about today. If you win today, you're in the NCAA tournament. It's March now, and I'm running out of things to say.

I told the guys, in the next 20 minutes we'll know what we are. They brought the fight to us. I give Delaware credit.
coach grow guys held men met pleasure reasons staying team
I told them just before we met that one of the reasons why I'm staying here is because of them. What a pleasure it is to coach young guys like this. I have a lot of friends in this business, and not all of them have a team like we have. The kind of young men that we have, that want to be coached, that want to grow up and that want to be held responsible.

I told them I am proud of all of them but I wasn't proud of everyone's effort though. But that's OK. Nobody's perfect.

It was a hard-fought game, as we thought it would be. We had some issues with foul trouble, so we had to go small for a while and we had to play zone (defense), which I'm not incredibly fond of. But we found a way to win.

It should be a great game. This is what it's all about. This is why these kids came to Hofstra - to play in games like this.

They deserve to be in the NCAA tournament. Like I said last night, I think we belong, too.

They've thrown that at us before. You have to hit your sweet spots against the zone, but nothing was falling for us.

We're getting there. We still haven't had a night where everyone is playing their total A-game. But that's OK. I'm hoping that happens next weekend.
