We had a pretty good early choice of where we wanted to go. I looked at when we wanted to play as much as anything. I felt this was a team that could use some time after the season where we could refocus.

No. 1 and foremost, he's a great example of a great student-athlete. He's a 4.0-plus student and he's a nice kid. He's the type of guy anybody would want in their program, on top of the fact he's 6-7.

I'm really not sure that we could've executed or played any better, so I give all the credit to Davidson. We executed three straight times out of timeouts. We scored and we got stops. We just didn't grab the ball. They're a tough, physical group and maybe they wanted the ball a little bit more there at the end.

It's a new season for everybody. If somebody gets knocked off, it's going to get really interesting. Even that year we got beat, I think it really shows that there's not a whole lot of difference between the teams (in the tournament). It really comes down to the teams that can win the close ones.

We're probably one player away from taking the next step. We just needed one more body that we could rely on. With some of the inexperience on the perimeter it took a while.

This was a good game. And, in the seven games we've played this season, we've been in six like it. So the experience of playing in close games is paying off.

I remember the day when you shot 100 free throws a day, 365 days a year. I don't think our guys are doing that and I don't think a lot of guys do that. A lot of people talk about how bad shooting has become in general. To be a good high-school basketball player, you should be able to hit a 15-foot shot.

I think we're making strides, but we're not getting results right now. Who knows? Maybe a trip out of state will help us. Right now we seem to have one guy who's not on the same page with what we're doing, whether it's offense or defense. It's just inexperience.

I think we're heading into a phase where we could be peaking. We're certainly getting better. I don't think we've topped off playing our best basketball yet. We certainly haven't put four quarters together, but we're certainly playing well.

I think our press got us going and got them out of their mode of trying to run some clock and got them playing quicker than they wanted to.

I thought we pretty much came out and laid an egg. In the same breath, I thought (Grove City) played very well. We did not show any interest in doing what we planned to do from the get go and that showed we weren't ready to play.

I think their most positive trait this year was they were always able to bounce back. We were at the point where we could've cashed it in and thrown in the towel and we didn't. If we had a game next week, I'd be confident that we're going to go out and win it.
