Simon has done a nice job for us as far as his attitude and work ethic. He had determination about making this team and he showed that early on. I think another thing that he has been able to do is make a role for himself on special teams.

I did wonder whether it would happen or not. Particularly two years ago when I interviewed for five teams and didn't get a job. I felt if it didn't happen this year, it probably wouldn't. Frisman came in and did a nice job for us. The big play was the long touchdown he had. That play helped his numbers, but he caught some balls at the end of the game. The pressure is on and they know we have to throw and he's still making the catches and gaining yards.

What I have to try to do is get guys to do their job to the best of their ability and make good choices while they're doing that. You have to make good choices while you're out there. Then, if you find out a guy cannot make good choices, you need to try to replace him.

Going into training camp, everybody competes for a job. We'll have a good competition in training camp for the quarterback job, as well as for the defensive end job, the linebacker job, the running back job and all of them.

Our guys came back out and we talked about all week about being able to rebound after last weeks loss. The guys came back and fought hard. Our defense did a good job the whole game. The offense got off to a slow start, but then came on and were able to move the ball and score some points.

I thought Jeff came in and did a reasonably good job for his team. He avoided the bad plays.

We said when he got here that he would have to work his way up. I told my coaches that there aren't going to be any battlefield promotions out on the field. He's going to have to go through the process. When he shows us he knows the system and he's getting the job done, then he'll move up.

The young kid, Charlie, did a pretty decent job overall. He handled himself well in situations where he was in trouble. He was able to get out of trouble and maintain his cool.

The offensive line didn't give up any sacks. The line did a nice job and Reuben did a nice job.

Charlie did a pretty nice job for not knowing he was going to start. His quarterback rating was (118.8). That's not bad for a young guy to go and be able to win on the road.
