Jim always wanted to have a horse in the Derby. He never once said to me that he wanted to win the Kentucky Derby because he'd been so blessed in his life, he thought it would be asking for too much.

It's a bittersweet experience. It's great to have a Derby contender named after you -- it will definitely put you on a high -- but knowing I am standing in the shoes of my friend takes the edge off a bit.
