Give those kids credit. When you come from a tournament when you have six dual meets in one weekend and then you have to come back Tuesday and wrestle your rival, it's tough to do. Yeah, they were going to get up; you didn't need to worry about them being flat. But they had a long weekend. Those kids had to come back and make weight. Give them a lot of credit for what they did and what they accomplished. We came out and did what we had to do. We just came up a little bit short.

We met a lot of people in Detroit and we all got along really well and we were all like-minded. I played bass with the (Detroit) Cobras for awhile and I recorded on the first White Stripes record and sat in with lots of other people. We all kind of came up together. It's an honest association. Last year I missed a free throw in a game against East. Just one, but we were down by two. So every single game now, I practice my free throws. I shot about 100 free throws this morning so just in case a situation like that came up in this game, I could knock them down.

We wanted to make sure we didn't have another loss here. We wanted to finish undefeated in conference. We didn't want to have any upsets like we did last year. We came out focused.

It was just before we got (Sullivan) and we were struggling, so I came back early (from a groin strain) and it wound up bothering me for about 10 more games. There was a lot more pressure then, but there isn't as much now. I still want to get back as quick as I can, but the guys are doing really well.

Not to run excuses out, but I had it off the bat, lost it in the lights, it came out of the lights, and it was too late. Simple as that.

I personally didn't overlook them, because we overlooked a game last year and we ended up losing. I don't think the rest of the team did because they understand that this is our last game to get to Peoria. I thought we came out and played hard.
