There is always tremendous interest in the relationship between the Hong Kong SAR Government and the Central Government.

When we view it in a broader context, against the backdrop of the future development of the Pan-PRD and our country, we will find that the scope and potential for cooperation are far wider than we imagined, that the people of Hong Kong can make an even bigger contribution to our country and that we can generate even greater prosperity.

Both the central government and this administration are actively leading this community towards universal suffrage in an orderly fashion. I am 60 years of age. I certainly want to see universal suffrage taking place in Hong Kong in my time.

This is the busiest time for national leaders. What I am going to do on this occasion are practical things, which may bring greater benefits to Hong Kong people and bring new opportunities for economic development, and help further modernization of the nation as a whole.
