I started off better tonight than in the first match. I had three really good games, but then I couldn't keep it going. I'm still not consistent enough, and I haven't been getting enough first serves in. I'm still suffering from a bit of a cold, which hasn't helped.

A lot of people ask me, 'Are you too nice to win tournaments?' I mean, you know, I'd rather be known as a nice person who was a good ambassador for the sport of tennis. But, I mean, it doesn't really bother me too much what the people are talking about.

There are a lot of good players here this week, but Amelie is in form and playing well so she will be tough to beat.

I know that I'm not going to get tired if I have to play a third set, and that's a great feeling to have -- knowing that that's not going to be a problem for me. I can go out there and play that third set, knowing that it's going to take my opponent to play good tennis to beat me.

I just got back from the doctor with good news. If everything continues as is, there is a greater chance that I will play in Antwerp (starting February 13).

In my mind as well I was positive, focused, and it was definitely a big step forward compared to yesterday. My serve was on most of the time. I felt good and was hitting the lines.
