adjustment gave liked next run
I thought he did well. I particularly liked how he gave up a run in the first inning but made an adjustment and pitched really well in the next inning.
adjustment ball count early forced fourth himself kept opposition order pitch swing
Ian Snell made an adjustment from what he was doing early on and got the ball down to where he could be very effective. He forced the opposition to have to swing the bat. He got himself some early-count outs. As a result, he kept his pitch count in order and was able to go through the fourth inning.
add doubt ends fact few obviously people rear washington
I think it'll put a few more rear ends in the seats. The fact Washington is still very much in it will add to the intrigue. Obviously people go out to see him, no doubt about that.
good relieve
It could end up being a good thing and relieve some tightness,
catcher goes needs push wear
It didn't make any sense to push it. A catcher goes through a lot of wear and tear. He needs to be 100 percent.
personnel
I think the personnel is here to get that done.
good nice pitches
I thought he did a nice job; he battled and made some good pitches when he had to.
against ball basically breaking club last pitch tough until
I thought he battled. He didn't have his breaking ball until his last two innings. That's a tough club to pitch against with basically just your fastball.
pitches quality throwing
When he's right, he's throwing quality pitches down there.
due given role situations
We've given him a substantial role due to some situations that've come up, ... and he's responded very well.
good strikes threw ton
We threw a ton of strikes and we made some very good 0-2 pitches.
ability area command innings latter needs pitches pleased progress strikes throw
He really understands that he needs command and the ability to throw strikes when he pitches in the latter innings of games. I'm very pleased with the progress he has made in that area this spring.
catch changed hope lead playing slug
Having the lead changed the way we go about our business. We weren't playing catch up. You can't hope to slug your way back into games.
athlete baseball great heck
He's a great athlete and a heck of a baseball player. You've got to like his future.
